Compare images pixel by pixel
Choose two PNG, JPEG or WebP images to see exactly where their pixels differ. Adjust the channel threshold to ignore tiny encoding changes.

Worked example
A changed icon block
Select Load example above to run this sample in your browser.
Original
80 × 60 screenshot with a blue block
Revised
The same screenshot with a 12 × 12 yellow square added
What the result means: At threshold 0, the diff highlights 144 changed pixels in pink. Raising the threshold can ignore subtler color shifts in other images.
How to use it
How to compare images pixel by pixel
- STEP 01
Choose an original and revised image.
- STEP 02
Set a per-channel difference threshold.
- STEP 03
Inspect the highlighted diff image and download it if needed.
Locate visual changes in exports and screenshots
A side-by-side glance may miss a changed icon or a one-pixel shift. This tool aligns images at the top-left, checks their pixel data and paints changed pixels in a separate difference view. It is useful for design exports, UI screenshots and image-processing checks. The dimensions are shown with the result.
What to check in the results
Images must have the same dimensions for a meaningful pixel comparison. JPEG compression can alter many pixels, so use a threshold or lossless PNG screenshots. Files stay on your device.
For a general line and character comparison, use the text diff tool. The text comparison guide explains a worked example, line counts, and how to keep shared links private.
Common questions
How do I highlight differences between two screenshots?
Choose screenshots of the same dimensions and run the comparison. Changed pixels are highlighted in pink, and you can download that difference image.
Why does a JPEG show so many changed pixels?
JPEG compression can alter pixel values across an image. Raise the per-channel threshold for small changes, or compare lossless PNG exports.
